Highway 360 (AR 360, Ark. 360, and Hwy. 360) is a former east–west state highway in Columbia County, Arkansas. The route served a rural area of South Arkansas. The segment was created in 1973, and deleted in 1978. The highway was maintained by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD), now known as the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT).

Route description

The highway began at a junction with U.S. Highway 79 (US 79) at the southern city limits of Emerson, a small town in south Arkansas. AR 360 ran south and east to a county road junction; where state maintenance ended, with the roadway continuing under county maintenance.[2]

History

The Arkansas State Highway Commission created AR 360 on May 23, 1973 along a Columbia County road following Act 9 of 1973 by the Arkansas General Assembly.[2] The act directed county judges and legislators to designate up to 12 miles (19 km) of county roads as state highways in each county.[3] AR 360 was decommissioned on June 28, 1978 at the request of the Columbia County judge as part of a route swap for extensions of AR 98 and AR 355, returning to county maintenance.[1]

Major intersections

The entire route is in Columbia County.
