Route description
Section 1
The first section of AR 205 begins at AR 274 east of East Camden, near the Southern Arkansas University Tech college campus. The route heads in a northwesterly direction, following the western edge of the Shumaker Naval Ammunition Depot before intersecting AR 203 after about one mile (1.6 km). The route continues north, then turns west for just under four miles (6.4 km) before reaching its northern terminus at US 79 southeast of Eagle Mills.[2]
Section 2
The second section of AR 205 begins at US 79 Business (US 79B) in Thornton. The route travels north for about 0.2 miles (0.32 km) before intersecting US 79 as a four lane divided expressway. It then travels in a northwest direction for about four miles (6.4 km) before intersecting AR 274 in northwestern Calhoun County. The route then travels in a more southwest direction before it ends at the Ouachita County line northeast of Bearden. The route then continues as Ouachita County Road 85.[3]
Section 3
The third section of AR 205 begins at the Tri-County Lake boat ramp in northwestern Calhoun County. The route travels around the northern perimeter of the lake before travelling directly north. It eventually intersects AR 8 southwest of Fordyce after about two miles (3.2 km).[4]
