Public Law

1 = Congress
2 = Ordinal law

U.S. Statutes at large, optional

3 = Volume
4 = Page

Enactment date, optional

5 = Year, must be four-digit, YYYY
6 = Month, must be two-digit, MM, with leading zero if <10
7 = Day, must be two-digit, DD, with leading zero if <10

Bill, optional

8 = Bill type
9 = Bill number

This template uses {{USPL}}, {{USStat}}, and {{USBill}} along with the date and bill type.

This template links to external sites. External links should not normally be used in the body of an article; see Wikipedia:External links for editing guidelines covering acceptable and unacceptable uses. In particular, notice the "exemption clause" that allows this template, along with its external links, to be used in an article's body.
