Place this template below all article content but above the categories.

Parameters

  • shield: shield for the road with no markup (ex. US 6.svg)
  • road: full name of the road, no markup (ex. U.S. Route 6)
  • dab: optional disambiguation, such as west for Interstate 84 (west)
  • state: state that the current article is detailing
  • statebefore: state prior to the current state
    • statebeforelink: set to no if the state name should not be linked
  • stateafter: state after the current state
    • stateafterlink: set to no if the state name should not be linked
  • statebefore2: state prior to the current state, if the highway re-enters the subject state
    • statebefore2link: set to no if the state name should not be linked
  • stateafter2: state after the current state, if the highway re-enters the subject state
    • stateafter2link: set to no if the state name should not be linked

Alternately, for Interstates and U.S. Routes, you can use type and route instead of shield and road. For example,

{{State detail page browse|type=I|route=5|state=Oregon|statebefore=California|stateafter=Washington}}

produces:

Interstate 5
Previous state:
California
Oregon Next state:
Washington
