- July 1, 1967 – A 25-mile (40 km) New York's Adirondack Northway extends the southern section of the highway from Pottersville to Underwood
- July 1, 1971 – The final gap in New York's stretch of Interstate 84 is closed between NY 208 and the New York State Thruway
- July 2, 1969 – A disconnected section of Interstate 80 in New Jersey between US 46 at I-280 in Parsippany–Troy Hills and Route 23 in Wayne is finished
- July 3, 1963 – Three sections of New York's Interstate 87 are opened: in Saratoga County, the southernmost section of the Adirondack Northway is extended north to NY 9P in Saratoga Springs, New York, and the northbound lanes of the Glens Falls bypass are extended south to NY 29 as a temporary super-two; further south, the Westchester County highway is extended north from Golden's Bridge to Croton Falls
- July 8, 1969 – A disconnected section of Interstate 80 in New Jersey is opened from Allamuchy to Hope
- July 9, 1968 - The first section of the Genesee Expressway opens in New York between Wayland and w:Dansville, New York as a realignment of NY 245.
- July 12, 1933 – Two sections of New Jersey Route 17 are bridged between Williams Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights, to Farview Avenue in Paramus
- July 13, 1973 – The gap in Interstate 80 in New Jersey between Allamuchy and US 46 at Netcong, as the whole highway is extended to a temporary exit at Polkville Road in Knowlton Township
- July 14, 1980 – The portion of New York's Southern Tier Expressway around Salamanca is completed
- July 15, 1964 – The first section of Ithaca, New York's Northeast Arterial bypasses the city to the north from Dryden Road to Rosemary Lane
- July 16, 1949 – A four-lane bypass of Annandale, New Jersey opens as part of US 22, later to be incorporated into I-78
- July 16, 1953 – The first section of the Garden State Parkway is extended north from Route 28 in Cranford to US 22 in Union Township
- July 18, 1972 – The two extant sections of Albany, New York's Northside Route are connected with the opening of a section from Everett Road to the Patroon Island Bridge
- July 18, 1973 – All lanes of the easternmost section of Interstate 80 in New Jersey are opened from I-280 to US 202 in Parsippany-Troy Hills with the opening of the westbound lanes
- July 19, 1963 – The gap in the Adirondack Northway in Saratoga Springs, New York is bridged from NY 9P to NY 29 southbound
- July 20, 1963 – The northbound gap in the Adirondack Northway in Saratoga Springs, New York is bridged from NY 9P to NY 29, allowing uninterrupted freeway access through all of the Hudson Valley south of Glens Falls
- July 22, 1954 – A section of New York's Quickway is extended from West Windsor to Five Mile Point
- June 22, 1970 – The northernmost section of Interstate 684 is extended south from Katonah to Bedford Corners, absorbing part of the Saw Mill River Parkway
- July 22, 1971 - An extension of New York's Southern Tier Expressway from Howard to the south of Avoca at US 15 is opened
- July 23, 1963 – A section of New York's Quickway is extended from Damascus to McClure
- July 24, 1961 – A section of New York's Penn-Can Highway is extended from Brewerton to Central Square
- July 24, 1968 – The first section of the Keeler Street Expressway is opened north of Rochester from North Goodman Street to the Sea Breeze Expressway
- July 25, 1967 – The southern section of New York's Adirondack Northway is extended with the opening of a three-mile stretch near Keeseville
- July 26, 1958 – A bypass of Liberty, New York from Ferndale to just south of Parksville opens as a section of the Quickway
- July 28, 1932 – The final section of New Jersey Route 4 from Grand Avenue in River Edge to Grand Avenue in Englewood is opened
- July 28, 1983 – New York's Southern Tier Expressway is extended from Stow west to Findley Lake is completed
- June 28, 2001 – The Apalachin-Campville Bridge is opened as NY 962J
- July 29, 1951 – A four-mile bypass of Cape May Court House, New Jersey opens as a disconnected section of the Garden State Parkway, the first in the southern part of the state
- July 29, 1966 – Two new sections of highway are extended from I-287 in New Jersey: from Pluckemin to CR 523 is a new section of I-78, and from I-287's northern terminus at US 206 in Bedminister is an extension to Mount Airy Road in Bernards
- July 30, 1954 – Two extensions of sections of the Garden State Parkway are opened: the bypass of Toms River, New Jersey is extended north from US 9 to the Eatontown Spur (now Route 36), which links the new highway to Route 35, and the northbound section in Middlesex County is extended from New Brunswick Avenue in Woodbridge Township across a new bridge on the Raritan River to US 9 in Sayreville
- July 30, 1959 – Two sections of the Niagara Thruway, one from the Tri-Level Interchange at I-90 to Court Street and the other from Sheridan Drive to the southern Grand Island bridge, are opened
- July 30, 1964 – The remaining sections of the Robert Moses State Parkway south of Lewiston, now the Niagara Scenic Parkway, are opened
- July 30, 1965 – A small bypass of Greene, New York is opened as part of NY 12
- July 31, 1964 – The Atlantic City Expressway opens between NJ 42 in Turnersville and the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor Township
- July 31, 2001 – The Atlantic City–Brigantine Connector in Atlantic City, New Jersey opens to traffic
- July 31, 2013 – The I-86 designation is extended along the Southern Tier Expressway from Elmira, New York to Waverly
