- Feb. 1, 1973 – New Jersey's stretch of Interstate 287 is extended north from Maple Avenue in Bernards to South Street in Morristown
- Feb. 3, 1970 – The Irondequoit Bay Bridge opens, which was soon incorporated into the new freeway alignment of US 104
- Feb. 5, 1970 – A nine-mile section of Interstate 84 from the Quickway to NY 208 is opened, extending the Middletown bypass
- Feb. 6, 1981 - A section of the Genesee Expressway opens from US 20 in Avon to US 20A in Lakeville
