This sub-template returns the associated country's CPI for a specific year. It's used by {{Inflation/doc}} for calculating the inflation rate between two given years, which in turn is used by {{Inflation}} to calculate inflated values. It usually isn't meant to be called directly. The sources for this dataset are China, rice prices 961-1910 (Liu) from 961 to 1261 and 1360 to 1729 by decade, Beijing prices 1738-1923 for 1730 to 1923, Urban Wholesale Price Change and Economic Growth in Modern China for 1924 to 1929, The inflationary spiral; the experience in China, 1939-1950 for 1930 to 1948, A Novel End to the Big Inflation in China in 1950 for 1949 to 1951, The empirics of inflation in China for 1952 to 1978, and National Bureau of Statistics of China, Consumer Price Index from 1979 to 2019.

Usage

{{Inflation/doc/cpi-cn|year}}

Providing no parameter or providing an invalid parameter will result in the "default" CPI, what usually means the latest one.
