Template:Cite Mississippi map/doc

Mississippi road map is a template that generates a reference for an official road map of Mississippi produced by the Mississippi State Highway Department, the Mississippi State Highway Commission, or the Mississippi Department of Transportation. The official maps that can be used with this template are available at this page.

Usage

This template has one required parameter:

• year: a four-digit year between 1928 and 2014. For map editions that features more than one year, such as 1996–1997, use the first year (1996) in the field. For years that have multiple maps, include the name of the month before the year, such as January 1939.

This template has optional parameters:

• link: to link the department or commission name as author.
• section or sections: one or more map grid sections. On most maps, sections are reference by a letter followed by a number, such as A2. This parameter is used to provide a more specific indication of what part of the map was used. Not all state maps have explicit grid sections.
• inset: one or more areas that are not part of the main map but show a smaller scale version of an area, such as a major city. Example: Jackson and Vicinity
• access-date: date map URL was accessed. (Alternate parameter, accessdate.)
• mode: this template uses {{cite map}} as a base, so therefore it falls into the Citation Style 1 scheme. Set this to "cs2" to emulate the Citation Style 2 scheme, like {{citation}}.
• ref: for use with shortened references like with {{harvnb}} or {{harvp}}.
