The E45, also known as Transversal Austral, is a primary highway that connects several areas of the Amazon with the ports of Salinas and La Libertad in the Province of Santa Elena.
History
At the end of 2006, the provincial government of Guayas carried out the widening of several sectors of the E40 in the areas between Chongón and Santa Elena.[1]
From 2011 to 2014, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Transportation invested around USD 91 million to improve the E40 sector between the towns of Zhud and Suscal in the Province of Cañar.[2]
