State Highway 100 (SH 100) is a 0.419-mile (0.674 km) state highway that connects Vilas with U.S. Route 160 (US 160). SH 100 is the shortest signed main state highway in Colorado, and second overall, longer than only the unsigned SH 110.
Route description
SH 100 begins at an intersection with US 160 north of Vilas. The highway runs due south from there, passing agricultural land before entering Vilas. The road passes houses and businesses in town before terminating at an intersection with Main Street in central Vilas.
History
SH 100 was an original 1920s state highway, following the route of what is now US 160 through the state, though the modern SH 100 doesn't follow any part of this route. Instead, the current SH 100 was originally designated as a spur route of the historic SH 100 in 1965. When the historic designation was decommissioned in 1968, the current route assumed its number.[2]
Major intersections
The entire route is in Baca County.
