The B8004 is an 8.9-mile-long (14.3 km) road running from the A830 road at Banavie in Scotland northeast up the west side of the Great Glen to Gairlochy then east beside the River Spean to meet the A82 road just west of Spean Bridge. Sections of it are recorded by Ordnance Survey as a "narrow road with passing places". It runs parallel to the Caledonian Canal near Neptune's Staircase until it crosses the canal by means of a swing bridge at Gairlochy. The road bridges two rivers; the River Loy at Loy Bridge and the Mucomir Cut section of the River Lochy at Bridge of Mucomir.[1]
