The A735 road in Scotland runs between Lugton and eastern Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.
Route
The route begins at the A736, in Lugton, which heads north towards Glasgow and south towards Irvine. The A735 heads south through rural areas. It soon reaches the larger village of Dunlop, where it reaches a mini roundabout and the B706 to Barrmill and Beith. The road leaves the village and heads south further, passing the hilly Kingston Road to Neilston and more rural areas before reaching the town of Stewarton. The road passes by industrial areas and some housing estates before meeting the B769 to Newton Mearns and B778 to Fenwick at the town centre crossroads. The A735 turns right, and both B769 and B778 have a short break in their routes to make way for the road. The road passes under the Stewarton Viaduct before reaching a mini roundabout where the B778 reappears headed for Auchentiber and Kilwinning. There is then a sharp fork in the road where the B769 leaves to the right for Irvine, North Ayrshire. The A735 now leaves Stewarton and heads through more rural areas before reaching the village of Kilmaurs. In Kilmaurs the road is the main street for the village and here it meets the B751 which goes east, again to Fenwick. The B751 here has a break in the road briefly before reappearing slightly to the south as a westward route towards Knockentiber, Crosshouse, and Gatehead. The A735 continues south further towards the large town of Kilmarnock. It reaches the outskirts of Kilmarnock soon after, and after meeting the B7064, at the B7038 it reaches a one way system around the town centre of Kilmarnock. On the one way system it meets the B7082, B7073 and B7081. The one way system ends and the B7038 reappears, heading southbound. The A735 here heads east along Queens Drive, past retail parks. The road meets the B7072 before finally ending at the large Bellfield Interchange. Here, the A76 begins, ultimately heading for Dumfries. The A71 heads west to Irvine and east towards the Loudoun Valley and Edinburgh. The A77 heads north towards Glasgow and south towards Ayr and Stranraer.
