The section of the A23 in Tanzania was transformed into the current T15 following the implementation of the TANROADS system while the section in Kenya was converted into the A6 following the 2016 highways reclassification.
Location
The western end of the A23 road was located in Arusha, Tanzania, intersecting with the old A104 intercolonial road. The A23 road connected the eastward with Moshi and the border town of Holili. Further east in Kenya, the road connected with Taveta and has its eastern terminus in Voi at the intersection with the A109, another route created by the British that connected Nairobi with Mombasa. The A23 road from end to end measured approximately 230 kilometers (140 mi).[1][2]
