The rules of the road are really simple. In short, follow the golden rule and you'll be fine; we wouldn't want you to be cited for a moving violation. While contributing, please keep in mind that we currently focus our articles on highways in the United States and Canada, including state or provincial highways and major county roads. We have the Annex here for additional content, like the list of longest state highways in the United States.

Europe

- We can mass create redirects if we need to. For future writing, there is a trick that can be done where you type in [[E1 (Europe)|]] and the software will expand appropriately. - The space can be omitted - we're not going to include the half-space that the UK has between its prefixes and numbers, and the spaces don't tend to appear (and if they do it's often a half-space).There's also the question of dashes that some countries use. Here's the {{Jct}} generated sign for the lowest E-road in every country so you can see what is common and what's not:

- This sounds like the U.S. Route versus US Route versus US Highway etc. problem. We've kept the articles at U.S. Route x (though in the archives the vote was not unanimous), but individual states are free to use U.S. Highway in the article (example: U.S. Route 8. I'm trying to not have too many discussions for seemingly noncontroversial naming conventions (we still have Spain and South America to work through), but if you think this could be controversial then perhaps we should start yet another discussion. --Rschen7754 21:16, 5 June 2024 (EDT)
- E-routes should be controlled by Module:Road data/strings/EUR and there should be a line in each relevant country's, modules to add that calls back to it. The EUR module also creates A through Z and then each country just tweaks the code as necessary ( Germany for example). I'm on mobile so it's not easy to check but I believe it is a halfspace between letter and number. –Fredddie™ 00:04, 6 June 2024 (EDT)
