Template:Canada topic
This template's initial visibility currently defaults to autocollapse
, meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.
To change this template's initial visibility, the |state=
parameter may be used:
{{Canada topic|state=collapsed}}
will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.{{Canada topic|state=expanded}}
will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.
The purpose of this template is similar to other continent and region topic templates, however instead of the name of countries being affixed to changeable strings, the province/territory's demonym is affixed. This template is distinct from the other continent and region topic templates because it many subnational concepts.

Altering the link used for a specific entity
To change the link used for a single state, Dependency, territory, or other entity, use the following parameters:
|provinces_only=
set asprovinces_only=true
to not display the territories.
Customizing the category shown
To change the link to the category from the default Category:Canada,
|Category=name of category
- do not include "Category:" in name when using this parameter.
