PI-103 ( Spanish: Ruta Departamental PI-103 ) is a departmental road that runs along part of the coastal areas of the Province of Paita in the western part of the Piura Department. The departmental starts in the city of Paita and connects the port of Islilla and Tortuga as well as the rural localities of La Casita and San Pedro and ends at the border of the province of Sechura.[1] According to Ministry of Transport and Communications estimates published in 2017, the departamental route is approximately 100,182 km long.[2]

During the "El Niño" phenomenon that occurred in part of the coastal areas of Piura in 2017, part of PI-103 was affected, especially the areas that connects to the town of Islilla due to the increase of water that made part of the road inaccessible.[3] At the end of 2022, the Regional Government announced the rehabilitation of the section between the city of Paita and the towns of Islilla and La Tortuja for an amount of 3 million soles.[4]

In early 2024, the Regional Government of Piura invested around 30 million soles to repave part of the section that connects the city of Paita with the port of Islilla.[5] In May 2024, the Regional Government of Piura started the auditing process for the rehabilitation projects of the PI-103 section that connects part of Paita with La Tortuga with an investment of approximately 2,740,486 Peruvian soles.[6]
