Route description
KY 1120 begins at an interchange with Interstate 71 and Interstate 75 in western Covington. From there, the route heads east through a residential neighborhood of Covington as Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. It splits into a pair of one-way streets in Covington; the eastbound route remains Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, while the westbound route follows 11th Street one block north. While split, the route intersects KY 17, which also follows a pair of one-way streets in Covington.[2]
Shortly after the two halves of KY 1120 reunite, the highway crosses the Licking River into Newport. It passes over KY 9 and continues east as 11th Street to its first intersection with US 27 and KY 8, where it jogs north to follow 10th Street. The route runs east to Interstate 471 before entering Fort Thomas, where it becomes Memorial Parkway. It turns south along a curving route through a residential area, passing Highlands High School. The highway intersects KY 1892 and has a short concurrency with KY 445 before turning southwest to end at its second intersection with US 27 and KY 8.[3]
