The B836 road links Dalinlongart near to Sandbank on the A815, to Auchenbreck near to Kilmodan in Glendaruel, on the A886 road. Linking on the Cowal peninsula from east to west Clachaig, Loch Tarsan, Ardtaraig at the head of Loch Striven. The entire length of the B836 is within the Cowal peninsula, in the south of Argyll and Bute, Scotland.[1]
The B836 is a busy single track road, the only east/west road on the Cowal peninsula. The B836 gives access from the west of Cowal, including the Portavadie/Tarbert ferry service from the Kintyre peninsula. Giving access to Dunoon (A815), via Sandbank, and its ferry services to Gourock and on to the Central Belt.
