Structure and standards
See AA:MURA for more details. Articles should best start with a short description of the state highway. This description should say where the route begins and ends, as well as any discontinuities, as defined by law. Unique details about this route may be added, but use sparingly.
Naming convention
Please be aware of Oregon's separation of "routes" and "highways".
Articles for signed routes are titled Oregon Route X, for example, Oregon Route 217.
Redirects from alternative names should be made as well. Use this completion list to aid in creating these redirects.
Articles for unsigned state highways are titled by their name, i.e. Tualatin Valley Highway. Redirects from Oregon Highway X should be created, with a clear disambiguating message at the top of the article. For names that are redundant with highway names elsewhere, suffix with (Oregon), for example: Sunset Highway (Oregon).
Categories
- Category:State highways in Oregon (subcategory)
- Put the signed routes in this category.
- Please use a three-digit sort key (i.e. 003 for Oregon Route 3, 070 for Oregon Route 70, 126 for Oregon Route 126) when putting articles in this category.
- Category:Named state highways in Oregon (subcategory)
- Put the unsigned highways in this category without a sortkey.
