Resources
The following is a short list of web references and links which may help in the creation and expansion of articles:
- NDOT
- NDOT - State Maintained Highways: Descriptions & Maps (current year only, contains mileages)

- use Template:Cite NDOT map instead of raw links
- UNR - Historic Official State Highway maps (higher quality than NDOT site)[dead link]
- UNR - Historic city/county area maps (higher quality than NDOT site, in ZIP files)[dead link]
- NDOT GeoHub
- County GIS sources

Structure of articles
Nevada highway articles follow the layout and conventions outlined in AA:MURA. Please consult that document first, as the guidelines detailed here supplement the AARW standards.
Naming conventions
- Articles about numbered highways shall follow the appropriate naming conventions established at AA:NC.
- Other articles within the scope of this project should use a commonly recognized name.
Infobox
{{Infobox road}} is the standard template used to create the information box on Nevada roads articles. See the template documentation for full a complete list of parameters and usage instructions.
Below is the basic syntax necessary to generate an infobox with the parameters most commonly used on Nevada articles, along with Nevada-specific parameter notes.
Basic Infobox Road syntax and Nevada-specific parameter notes | |
---|---|
{{Infobox road |state=NV |type= |route= |alternate_name= |map= |length_mi= |length_round= |length_ref= |established= |history= |direction_a= |terminus_a= |junction= |direction_b= |terminus_b= |previous_type= |previous_route= |next_type= |next_route= }} |
See Nevada State Route 376 for a typical example of Infobox Road in action. |
Junction lists
All Nevada road articles about an active numbered highway shall have a junction table created in compliance with AA:MURA. Tabular road junction lists shall be created using the {{jctint}} family of templates, using {{NVint}} for each row entry and enclosing the table between {{jcttop}} and {{jctbtm}} tags. Use of background colors is encouraged (subject to AA:MURA provisions).
