  • Israel/Palestine: (the road system is the same) F - freeways, H - highways, R - regional roads, Jerusalem roads - might not be signed, many are also national roads.
  • Jordan: Primary - 1 digit, 2 digit; Secondary - 3 digit.
  • Iran: F - Motorway, National highway. Also a number of named expressways.
  • Pakistan: M - motorway, N - national highway, E - expressway, S - strategic route, L - loop (Lahore), Provincial highways, Municipal highways
  • Bangladesh: N - 1 digit or 3 digits, R - regional highway
  • Nepal: NH - national highway, F - feeder road
  • Bhutan: PNH - primary, SNH - secondary, Dzongkhag roads - DR
  • Sri Lanka: E - expressway, A - national road - usually AA (signed as A), AB, AC

At the moment, these are the only countries where content has not been imported from English Wikipedia: United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales), India, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia.

Other countries not listed did not have content to import, or have no known road system. Questions about what is acceptable content can be directed to AARoads:The Interchange.

Lists relevant to all of the above, containing information such as termini, establishment and disestablishment dates, lengths, etc. are also in scope.

The following other types of content is appropriate for the main namespace:

  • Historical highways where a functional component remains today
  • Highway-only government bodies such as FHWA
  • Companies that run service areas
  • Departments of transportation
  • Tolling agencies
  • Electronic transponders
  • Road signs
  • Speed limit information in a general manner
  • Automobile associations that were involved in road signage (i.e. Automobile Club of Southern California)
  • Government-run ferries
  • Specific road hardware and features
  • Special/unique checking stations (i.e. California Border Protection Stations, United States Border Patrol interior checkpoints)
  • City streets in the following cases:
    • The street has characteristics of a major highway such as interchanges or grade separation.
    • The street is currently or was formerly part of a major numbered highway (however, a merger into the article on that highway should also be considered).
    • Streets that predominantly serve a residential purpose, in most cases, are not eligible for inclusion.
  • Interchanges:
    • Interchanges must be named, and the name must appear in outside sources besides the department or ministry of transportation. Colloquial names can be included if they are used in major media sources.
    • There must be more that can be said about the interchange beyond ramp descriptions and content that could belong in the articles about the intersecting roads.
