Route
London Borough of Sutton
The A2043 starts at a crossroads in the centre of Cheam at a crossroads with the A232 and Station Way, which heads to Cheam railway station. It is named The Broadway (Cheam) for a short distance before changing name to Malden Road. After a mile, it comes to a crossroads with the A24 London Road in North Cheam. It changes name to Cheam Common Road. It runs into Worcester Park, and after an S-bend in the road, it becomes Central Road (Worcester Park), and it runs down the hill before exiting the borough.
Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames
As it goes under the railway line by Worcester Park railway station, it enters the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames. It enters Old Malden and runs for half a mile before passing a T-Junction with the north-east terminus of the B284 (Church Road). It then goes under another railway line, about half a mile from Malden Manor railway station. The road then bends round to the right and passes a set of traffic lights with Sheephouse Way. The road then enters New Malden and arrives at Malden Junction with the A3.
It continues for a short distance before heading left at a roundabout with the B283 High Street (New Malden) and B283 Burlington Road. It changes name to Kingston Road and passes Kingsmeadow, home to Kingstonian F.C, AFC Wimbledon, as well as Kingston Athletic Club and Polytechnic Harriers. The road then becomes Cambridge Road and after a short distance, it terminates at a T-Junction with the A308 (Old London Road).
